Vibrant Places

Our community can be a place to offer opportunity and to provide for everyone.

Sharing inspiration from across the world, people are looking for diversity of housing. We will work on an improved natural environment together to create unique neighbourhoods and communities that have their own sense of identity.

Public art and local businesses within our neighbourhoods can reflect the communities that surround them, creating a place to call home for locals and a sense of adventure for visitors.

Our City is home to major and iconic sporting and entertainment destinations which brings entertainment to our doorstep. Our local spaces play an equally important role in bringing people together and generating vibrancy within neighbourhoods. We will work with our community to make best use of these spaces.

Vibrant Places Di Caught

“The project with Westport Primary School represents many hands rather than just one artist. It belongs to the kids because they’ve done all the colouring in. Every time I think about a project it’s how community members can be involved. I couldn’t imagine doing this without that involvement. I feel like the end result is more meaningful.”

Vibrant Places Temaana

“I draw a lot of inspiration for my art from my Country and all of my stories are creation stories and my family. I also draw inspiration from my day to day life down here spending time running around the City and living near the beach. My culture, my people and my Country really mean the world to me and the whole idea of sharing knowledge, sharing my points of view as an Aboriginal man, I think that’s really important for not only my culture but everyone to be able to have that better understanding of Aboriginal culture in general.”

Temaana Sanderson-Bromley - Adnyamathanha, Narungga and Wangkangurru Yarluyandi Artist and Business Owner

Vibrant Places Dion

Our mural literally brings people in. It helps also add a little bit of identity and sets it apart from the streets, as you drive down you really can’t miss it. You see the mural and you know it’s Crave Coffee.

Dion Timpano – Owner of Crave Coffee at Croydon

Vibrant Places Mel

"The people who come to the community centre here at Seaton are amazing individuals. My favourite memory would be working on the mural that’s behind me with the community. There were so many great achievements and stories. For some people it was their first time connecting to the centre, some people had never even explored art before and had the opportunity to be part of this community mural. They’re so proud of the work they’ve done."

Mel Cutting – Seaton North Neighbourhood Centre
